Build and support a strong and extensive natural health care outreach program to benefit both natural health care practitioners and the natural health care community. Educate Idaho about natural health care products and services and legislation. Protect and defend our natural health care freedoms, including the Naturopathic Licensure Act of 2005, which currently serves Idaho non-licensed natural health care practitioners and all Idaho citizens who want the freedom to choose natural health care alternatives. The Idaho Coalition for Natural Health is currently in a grassroots effort to stop Senate Bill 1425. This bill attempts to modify the Naturopathic Licensure Act of 2005. In 2005, this law was a collaboration between the Idaho Medical Association, the Medical Naturopathic Physicians (NMDs), the traditional Naturopaths (NDs), and non-licensed providers of natural health care services. With all in agreement, this law went into effect July 1, 2005. This current law is in jeopardy as a result of SB 1425. Visit our legislative page for more information! We sponsor WING! ~ Wellness Information & Networking Group! This is a monthly meeting organized in various locations around the state. We invite you to participate in your local WING! to create and build a strong and extensive outreach program for Idaho's natural health care community, legislators, media and consumers. If there is no WING! in your area, organize one! Click here to learn more about WING! Through the grassroots efforts of the ICNH, both HB 373 in 2003 and SB 1300 in 2004, bills written to license a few Naturopathic Physicians and force state registration for all other non-licensed practitioners, were successfully defeated in committee. In 2005, SB 1158 to license Naturopathic Physicians for limited medical procedures only, without state registration for all other natural health care practitioners, passed into law! Click here to read SB 1158. What does this mean for Idaho natural health care practitioners? "...Any person providing natural health care services who is not a naturopathic physician and who is advertising or charging a fee for those services, shall, prior to providing such services, disclose to the client in a clearly worded statement...". Click here to create a personalized Idaho Natural Health Care Services Disclosure Form. Furthermore, "...Before a practitioner provides natural health care services to a client for the first time, such practitioner must obtain a written acknowledgment from the client stating that he or she has been provided with the information described in this section. The client shall be provided with a copy of this written acknowledgment which must be maintained for two (2) years by the person providing the services. If the disclosure information changes, then the practitioner has a duty to repeat the disclosure if a client obtains services after the change." We invite all of Idaho's natural health care practitioners, their clients, families and friends, legislators and media to achieve our three-fold mission as defined above. Stay informed on current legislation, help us build a strong and extensive network for ALL of Idaho's natural health care community, and help us educate Idaho about natural health care.
